The junk Removal Services we offer brought me to a home in Tempe and as i was removing construction debris from a home another company showed up to clean air ducts from a coupon that was for 6.95 per vent. This is the air duct cleaning scam. First of all no one is going to clean your air ducts for $6.95 per vent just like you can not get your carpet cleaned for $6.95 per room. The scam is that once you get the coupon and call the unethical company that runs these adds you get a visit from one or 2 people that are trained in the art of bait and switch. this tactic although illegal is used by companies to get in the door and sell extras that should be included in a normal service or are not needed at all. When these scammers arrive they try and tell you that you need sanitizers or mold treatments or some other unneeded product to get the job done and now instead of $50 or $60 for the coupon they want $500 $600 or more. i warned the custommers whose home i was at that this was a real possibility since i have seen this tactic many times. I left and moved onto another job with the customer not to worried about the scam that they were about to be apart of. About 45 min later i got a call from the client whose home i had left and very upset. they were the victims of 45 min sales pitch and hustle that had this air duct cleaning salesman wanting $650 and when the client refused to pay they were cussrd out and humuliated by the air duct cleaning company. Needless to say i was hired to clean this clients Air Ducts for $189 my standard price for One unit homes.
